Samsung has introduced its new Galaxy Camera 2. It is the successor of already available Galaxy Camera and likely to be showcased next week at CES 2014.
Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 comes with 21x optical zoom lens and optical image stabilization. It features a 4.8 inch LCD display and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor. It runs on Android 4.3. It is packed with 2 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage. It also has a microSD card slot for storage expansion. For low light photography, it has a xenon flash light. It is packed with 2000 mAh battery. It also has usual connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC.
Samsung has also added many photography related software tweaks in the camera. It has Smart Mode, Smart Mode Suggest, Mobile Link, Remote Viewfinder, Tag & Go, Photo Beam and Multi-motion video.
It has 28 different pre-set shooting modes and the ability to capture video in fast forward or slow motion. Unlike Galaxy Camera, it does not come with SIM slot. So, no LTE/3G connectivity this time.
“Consumers love the Galaxy Camera, and this next-generation version was designed to improve on the successful predecessor, with upgraded and new features that will enhance the photography experience,” said Myoung Sup Han, Executive Vice President and Head of the Imaging Business Team at Samsung Electronics.
There is no word on the pricing and release data. We expect more details at CES 2014.
