Xiaomi Unveils SU7 and SU7 Max: Electric Cars with Revolutionary Features

Xiaomi has officially entered the electric car arena with the launch of the SU7 series at an event in China. The SU7 and SU7 Max models boast impressive features, including an up to 800km range and a top speed of 265 kmph. This launch will put Xiaomi at the forefront of electric vehicle innovation.

Xiaomi has carefully crafted these cars for an impressive design. These cars have a sports car-like appearance. There are water drop-shaped headlights, halo-shaped tail lights, and G4 continuous curvature. Xiaomi prioritizes safety with an armored steel-aluminum hybrid body. It features a strength of 2000MPa and the highest vehicle torsional stiffness of 51000 N·m/deg in mass-produced cars. The company has also added 7 airbags in the car for comprehensive safety.

Xiaomi SU7 series features a 16.1-inch large touch screen, a 56-inch HUD, and a 7.1-inch flip instrument screen. The central control screen supports keyboard expansion and these cars also have system intelligent integration. SU7 series runs Xiaomi HyperOS, a new software ecosystem the company has been working on for more than 6 years.

The company boasts that it has made a people-centered cockpit with an industry-leading canopy. The dynamic ambient lighting and impressive audio system featuring 25 speakers and Dolby Atmos. It also has an extensive glass area that provides a spacious and immersive driving environment.

Both SU7 and SU7 Max are powered by Xiaomi’s HyperEngine V6/V6s motors that boats an impressive 21000 rpm. The company has already started mass-production of HyperEngine V8s with a remarkable 27200rpm. It is set to be ready by 2025.

Xiaomi SU7 accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in a mere 5.28 seconds. It is powered by a single Orin chip and Qualcomm 8295. The car features a 73.6-degree iron lithium battery that boasts 668km run on a single charge.

The SU7 Max takes performance to the next level with a 101Kwh CATL Integrated Battery Technology. It has a 101-degree ternary lithium Kirin battery, dual Orin chips, lidar, Qualcomm 8295, air suspension + CDC, an electric tail wing, 56-inch HUD, and a 25-speaker sound system. The bar promises up to 800km range and supports super-fast charging. It can achieve 220km in just 5 minutes and 510km in 15 minutes.

Xiaomi has not confirmed pricing or the sale date yet. These electric cars will go on sale in China in 2024.
