Facebook has quietly released a Pinterest cone called “Hobbi” that lets users share photos and videos.
Hobbi has been developed by New Product Experimentation, a team within Facebook that keeps experimenting with new products and services. For now, the app is only for iOS and is listed in the App Stores. The app is available to download in the United States and a few other countries. I tried downloading it in India, but it seems the app is not yet available here.
Facebook notes that the app is designed for documenting your personal projects and hobbies. One can use the app to organize photos into themed collections and track the progress you’re making.
The app is very simple and comes with limited editing options. There is no social networking feel but you can share your collection externally with friends after projects are complete.
The app is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running on iOS 11.0 or later
Since the introduction, Facebook’s NPE Team has launched a chat app Bump and social media app Aux. it also launched meme editor app called Whale. None of these apps got success in creating a buzz. Now they are experimenting with a new app.
