Popular content streaming service Netflix is now offering a mobile-only plan for as low as Rs. 65 for Indian consumers. This mobile-only plan is for those who usually watch content on a mobile phone and doesn’t want to pay much.

The mobile-only plan allows consumers to watch Netflix content on just one smartphone or tablet at a time. This plan does not support HD or 4K streaming.

This Rs. 65 weekly plan is the subset of the Rs 250 monthly plan that offers mobile-only access.

Indian market is very price sensitive. Here is the reason Netflix has introduced a new concept of weekly pricing.

The regular pricing on Netflix starts at Rs 500 per month and goes up to Rs 800 per month depending on access to screens and content quality you want. Here are the details of different plans.

  • Basic (Rs. 500) – SD content and you can stream simultaneously on one device.
  • Standard (Rs. 650) – HD content and you can stream simultaneously on 2 devices.
  • Premium (Rs. 800) – Ultra HD and you can stream simultaneously on four devices.

Netflix is still struggling in India because other OTT players like Amazon Prime Video and Hotstar Premium charges much lesser with similar benefits. It is true that Netflix has better and larger content portfolio, but Indian consumers do not want to pay high price.

Recently, Ghana, JioSaavn and Apple Music also slashed their music subscription service prices.
