During Meta’s Q1 2024 earnings call, CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that the social media platform now has more than 150 million monthly active users. Threads now has over 150 million monthly active users. The app was launched last year in July to take on X. It managed to create initial buzz but failed to come even close to X.
I also have a Threads profile, but I rarely open it. if I remember right, I opened the app only 2-3 times in the last 30 days. That’s the case with several people. Even with a 150 million monthly active user base, the platform doesn’t seem to have much engagement.
On the other hand, X has over 250 million daily active users, and a lot of users spend hours on the app engaging with different posts. On average, users spend 30 minutes a day on X.
Threads had a successful launch and surpassed 10 million users in just seven hours. It confirmed 130 million users back in February and 100 million in December. That means the platform added 20 million in 2 months.
