After too much controversy, Twitter has introduced a new feature ‘report tweet’ for all users. This option can be used to report threatening and abusive tweets to Twitter.
To rport a tweet, click on More link and then click on Report Tweet option.
This option was already added for Twitter iOS app. But, now it is available for all users on all platforms including mobile and desktop. Android app has also been updated with this option. This feature is being rolled out slowly on Android phone and will reach you soon.
“you can now report individual Tweets for abuse or spam directly from Twitter for Android and Twitter.com. This feature will be rolling out gradually; it’s already available on Twitter for iPhone,” Twitter said.
Users can also report a abusive user
This feature came after a long and widely supported campaign. Freelance journalist Caroline Criado Perez was tarted by abusive tweets. Then, she filed a petition for bringing report abuse buttons to tweets. This petition was supported by more than 140,000 users.
Twitter has also made changes to its “Terms and Conditions” on abusive behavior. It said that abusive behavior will not be tolerated in any case.
