IRCTC Launches Online Shopping website In Partnership With Yebhi.com

This is not a surprising move as we already knew that e-commerce portal is coming. In July, Yebhi.com won the deal to give white labeled solution for e-commerce website to Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. FOr this, IRCTC has floated a tender of Rs. 1000 Crore. Infibeam was also in the race but couldn’t beat yebhi.com.

When we took a look on the website, we found that website is just a simple affiliate effort. When you try to order a product, you will be landed on yebhi.com domain for payment process. But website header will still have IRCTC name and logo on yebhi.com domain. It is clear that IRCTC will get share for each transaction from IRCTC shopping portal. And  Yebhi will do everything including payment collection and item shipping.

At this moment, this website has no link to either IRCTC account or Yebhi.com account. But IRCTC can take advantage of its existing 2 crore registered users to promote this website.

What do you think about IRCTC’s move of jumping in e-commerce market?
