9 Jobs that AI can replace in future

AI

Artificial intelligence or AI is cable of performing several tasks using the intelligence provided to it via training data. It can perform several tasks better than humans and can also mimic several human functions. Now that ChatGPT and other AI tools are showing their potential, a lot of people asking if AI can replace humans in jobs.

First of all, we need to understand that AI can only perform tasks based on its earning. So, AI can outperform humans in certain specific tasks where it has to take decisions based on the data sets it was trained on or on repetitive tasks. AI can be useful in sectors such as finance, healthcare, and transportation where large amounts of data need to be analyzed quickly and accurately. If we look closely, AI cannot replace human intelligence, but can actually assist humans in doing their tasks quickly.

AI can help in analyzing vast amounts of data, identifying patterns, and making predictions more quickly and accurately than humans. However, there are several tasks that require creativity, empathy, and critical thinking that AI cannot replicate.

It is worth noting that AI can automate some of the aspects of different jobs, but cannot fully replace human. It could be a reason for the job across different verticals but can’t replace humans completely.

Here are some of the jobs where AI can play an important role and can affect human jobs.

1. Data Entry

AI can automate data entry tasks by using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to scan and process documents. This reduces the need for human intervention in data entry tasks, making the process faster and more accurate.

2. Customer Service

AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants are being increasingly used in customer service to provide support and answer frequently asked questions. These chatbots can provide 24/7 support, which is not possible with human agents. Several companies are already using AI chatbots for responding to customer queries and assisting them with their problems.

3. Manufacturing and Assembly line work

AI can be used to automate repetitive tasks such as picking and placing items, welding, and packaging. These tasks can be performed by robots, freeing up human workers to focus on more complex and creative tasks. Several companies have already started testing AI robots to automate manufacturing and assembly line work.

4. Transportation and Delivery

Self-driving cars and drones are being developed and tested for transportation and delivery. These vehicles can operate without a human driver or pilot, which could reduce the need for human drivers and delivery personnel. If self-driving cars become good enough to drive across different roads safely, it can replace human drivers in public transport. Several e-commerce companies have already started testing drone deliveries.

5. Banking and Finance

AI can be used in banking and finance to automate tasks such as fraud detection, loan underwriting, and risk assessment. AI algorithms can analyze large amounts of data to identify patterns and make decisions more quickly and accurately than humans.

6. Medical Diagnosis

AI-powered medical imaging technologies are being developed to assist in the diagnosis of diseases such as cancer. These technologies can analyze medical images to identify potential abnormalities and assist healthcare professionals in making more accurate diagnoses.

7. Legal Work

AI can be used to automate legal research and document analysis, which can be time-consuming and labor-intensive for human lawyers. AI-powered tools can analyze legal documents, identify relevant information, and provide recommendations for legal strategies.

8. Telemarketing

We already receive several robocalls promoting different products and services. This job can be completely taken over by AI in the coming years. It cannot completely replace telemarketing jobs but has the potential to automate most aspects of this job. However, Telemarketing jobs also involve human communication skills and empathy. It may not be easy for AI to completely replicate it.

9. Receptionists

AI-powered chatbots can answer phone calls, take bookings, provide information to visitors, and more. Several companies have already started testing Ai-powered tools for such tasks. Google has also demonstrated Google Duplex back in AI that can talk just like a human receptionist. With time, this could be more powerful. Human receptionists can provide personalized service and have adaptability that AI cannot replicate. But their jobs are still at risk because of the advanced AI we are seeing today.
