ChatGPT has taken over the internet by storm. It was trending on Twitter and other social media platforms. Several users are now trying to understand what is ChatGPT. So, I decided to write a detailed article about ChatGPT. In this article, I will try to answer all the questions about ChatGPt.
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is an AI chatbot developed by OpenAI. The chatbot is based on the GPT-3.5 language model and is trained to provide detailed responses to instructions given by users. Unlike other chatbots, ChatGPT can answer follow-up questions, solve maths equations, compose texts, fix and debug codes, and summarize texts. It can also translate between languages.
ChatGPT is basically a variant of the GPT-3 model designed for chatbot applications. The company has trained it by using large conversational text data. So, it can simulate human conversation and can answer questions on several topics.
OpenAI was co-founded by Sam Altman and Elon Musk in 2015. Sam Altman is currently serving as the CEO of OpenAI.
How to use ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is free to use. Open the website https://chat.openai.com on your devices and log into your account. If you don’t have an account, create one. After the successful login, you can start having a conversation with ChatGPT.
The dashboard also provides several sample questions you can ask. I also tried asking different questions to see how this chatbot works.
I am really impressed with the way it can write and debug codes. Developers can now use it to find out bugs in their codes. It works really well. Here’s a sample when I asked it to write a simple code in Python and ChatGPT was able to write the code quickly.
ChatGPT is not always accurate as it was trained using a dataset and can be wrong when asked about current affairs. ChatGPT also confirms that its training only goes up until 2021. This chatbot can also not browse the internet or access real-time information. So, it cannot provide information about current incidents.
For example, I asked it about the highest motorable pass in the world. The answer was Khardung La pass in Ladakh. In reality, the answer is Umling La Pass.

If you are looking for the latest and most accurate information, Google is still better. ChatGPT cannot compete with or replace Google. Google has crawlers that scrape billions of web pages daily and update its knowledge base. For accurate and latest information, you should prefer Google over ChatGPT.
