The Unicode Consortium has now approved Emoji 15.1 which brings over 118 new emojis. These new Emojis should arrive on your devices over the next year.

The 118 new emojis include four new gender-neutral family emoji combinations, six completely new concepts, and 108 new direction-specifying versions of six pre-existing people emojis.

New emoji concepts

New family emojis:

  • πŸ§‘β€πŸ§’β€πŸ§’
  • πŸ§‘β€πŸ§’
  • πŸ§‘β€πŸ§‘β€πŸ§’β€πŸ§’

People emoji characters with direction-specifying variations. Each of these new emojis supports the usual gender and skin tone variation sequences. So, it makes a total of 108 new direction-specific people emojis.
