Apple has now released iOS 17 for compatible smartphones. The update is currently rolling out. You can download over-the-air updates from the Settings app or plug your device into your computer for a wired update. If you want to update, make sure to take a backup.

iOS 17 includes several new features including custom phone cards, Live Voicemail, FaceTime video voicemail support, new Messages features, StandBy mode, interactive widgets, NameDrop, a new Journal app, Safari Profiles support, predictive inline typing autocomplete, autofill for PDFs, improvements to Siri, and more.

The most notable feature of iOS 17 is the new StandBy mode. If you keep your phone horizontally on a wireless charger, the phone will display full-screen widgets for quick, glanceable information. The feature works with a MagSafe-enabled dock.
