Qualcomm has released its latest Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset for smartphones. Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is built on 4nm process technology and is also less powerful than other Snapdragon 7 series chips.

Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 has eight CPU cores with 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. It has Adreno GPU but the company didn’t confirm the exact name of the GPU. It supports LPDDR5 memory up to 3200 MHz, LPDDR4X memory up to 2133 MHz, and UFS 4.0 storage.

It has a weaker Spectra Image Signal Processor that can handle Spectra Image Signal Processor (ISP) that can handle up to 48 MP single, 32 MP + 16 MP dual, or 16 MP + 16 MP + 16 MP triple cameras. It can record up to 4K @ 30 fps and 1080p @ 120 fps slo-mo videos. The Soc also features an AI-based De-Noising Engine, and Qualcomm Low Light for enhanced low-light photography.

The chip supports an FHD+ display with up to 144 Hz refresh rate.

The SoC has a Snapdragon X62 modem that is slower than the model used in other Snapdragon 7 series chipsets. The chip also has Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, Qualcomm aptX Lossless technology, and more. Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 supports older QuickCharge 4+ charging technology.

The SoC will power the upcoming Redmi Note 13 Pro smartphone that will be launched in China on September 21.
