MediaTek has announced its flagship smartphone SoC Dimensity 9000 for 2022 flagships. This SoC is built on a 4nm node by TSMC.

Dimensity 9000 features a Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3.05GHz, three Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2.85GHz, and four Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. Mediatek also claims that Dimensity 9000 offers more than 35% better performance over current-generation Android Flagship chips. I assume the company is here comparing the chip with Snapdragon 888.

Dimensity 9000 is paired with Mali-G710 GPU. The company claims that the GPU is also comparable to Google Tensor G78MP20 GPU. It is expected to offer a 20% performance boost due to generational IP improvements. For improved gaming, the SoC includes Mediatek HyperEngine 5.0. The SoC also includes the industry’s first raytracing SDK using Vulkan for Android. It supports LPDDR5X RAM with up to 7500Mbps read speed.

The mobile platform also includes 5th generation AI processor. The APU is designed to offer good performance in AI, Multimedia, Gaming, Camera, and video-related tasks. It boasts to offer 4 times power efficiency over the predecessor.

It supports a 144Hz WQHD+ display or 180Hz Full HD+ display. It also supports wifi display up to 4K 60 HDR10+. The SoC also includes MediaTek Intelligent Display Sync 2.0.

The SoC includes a new 18-bit HDR ISP that can captrieHDR videos on three cameras simultaneously. It is also the first chip to support 320 megapixels camera for smartphones.

Dimensity 9000 integrates the only 5G smartphone modem with 3GPP Release-16 standard technology. It also supports Bluetooth 5.3, Bluetooth LE, and Wi-Fi 6E.
