Samsung announces cloud gaming for Tizen smart TVs

Samsung Cloud gaming

At its Developer Conference keynote, Samsung announced cloud gaming for Tizen smart TV platform. The company didn’t provide any details about how this cloud gaming would work and when would it be available.

Like other cloud gaming platforms, Samsung’s cloud gaming platform will let users play games on Tizen smart TVs. They will only need a controller and an internet connection. Samsung is also working with partners on the service to improve its tech.

There are several game streaming platforms By Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Sony, and Nvidia. So, Samsung will face tough competition. Even if there are so many platforms, cloud gaming is still in its early stage.

Back in 2010, Samsung worked with a game streaming company called Gaikai to bring cloud gaming. The company even launched it in beta but it couldn’t proceed further after Sony bought Gaikai.

We don’t know anything about the service, so we cannot say if it could compete against rivals. Samsung is expected to reveal more information in the next few months.
