Popular messaging app WhatsApp has added another interesting feature in its beta version. Once successfully tested, it will be available in the stable version.

WhatsApp version 2.18.4 adds a switch button that lets people switch from voice calls to video calls. Tapping on this button will send a request to the recipient, asking if he wants to “convert” the current voice call in a video call.

switch from voice calls to video calls

While the report doesn’t mention anything about switching from video calls to voice calls, I assume that the option should also come at the same time.

WhatsApp’s this new addition will surely save the time of users as they do not need to disconnect the current call to make a video call. The given option will be a faster way to switch.

If you want to try this feature, you just need to download the WhatsApp version 2.18.4 beta and install it on your phone. If you cannot see this working, force stop the app and try again. This option should appear during your voice calls.
