Bixby Voice

Samsung has started rolling out Bixby Voice globally in 200 countries ahead of Galaxy Note 8 launch. As of now, it is only supporting US English or Korean system languages.

Bixby Voice is the personal digital voice assistant from Samsung that allows users to control phone’s functionality using voice commands. Bixby can understand your way of speaking and it knows when you are asking questions or making requests. You can ask it to capture photos, send pictures to your mom, open apps and more.

If you want to use Bixby, you need to own a Galaxy S8 or S8+. If you own and your phone’s system language is the US English or Korean, you just have to press and hold the Bixby button to activate it. If you do not see it working, you need to clear the app’s data to get it working.

Samsung will officially launch Galaxy Note 8 tomorrow with dedicated Bixby button.

“The expansion of Bixby’s voice capabilities is an initial step in the continued rollout of Bixby functionality. In the future, Bixby will have the learning power to offer more intelligent and personalized interactions and seamless connections across more devices,” Injong Rhee, an executive vice president at Samsung, said in a press release.

Bixby is the answer to Google’s Assistant and Apple’s Siri. As of now, it will be very early to comment if Bixby has the ability to compete but it will surely make the digital assistant market interesting.
