Google has announced that Android 13 is coming to all Pixel phones starting today. Pixel 4, Pixel 4a, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a are getting the Android 13 update.

Google has confirmed that Android 13 will also be available to other devices including Samsung Galaxy, Asus, HMD (Nokia phones), iQOO, Motorola, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Sharp, Sony, Tecno, Vivo, Xiaomi, and more later this year.

Android 13 brings Material You theming and lets you pick what colors you want to pull from your wallpaper. Third-party developers can also now add themed icons to their apps. So, users will get a beautiful monocolor home screen.

Android 13 adds a new media player with a progress bar, album covers, and a new big and bold navigation bar. The media player also tailors look and feel based on the music or podcast you’re listening to

If you speak more than one language, you can now assign specific languages to individual apps. That means you can now use apps in different languages than your phone’s system language.

Now you don’t need to give an app permission to access your entire media library. You can select only specific photos and videos. Android will now also automatically clear your clipboard history after a period of time to protect your sensitive data.

Apps now need explicit permission to send notifications. So, you now have notifications under control.

Android 13 also adopts Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) Audio. So, you now experience better sync with the sound’s source and enjoy enhanced audio quality and broadcast audio to multiple devices at the same time.

The new Android also makes multitasking easier. You can now see all your apps at a glance and easily drag and drop any app into split-screen mode. It will soon let you copy content like URLs, pictures, text, or videos from your Android phone and paste it on your Android tablet. If you are on your laptop, you will be able to stream your messaging apps directly to your Chromebook. So, you can send and receive messages from your laptop.
