Finally, Apple has decided to launch its smart speaker, Home Pod, to India. The company has launched HomePod in India at Rs. 19900. Apple has not made any official announcement, but quietly listed the product on Apple India’s website with pricing. We still do not know when Apple will start shipping HomePod in India.

Apple’s HomePod comes with HomeKit for smart home control and uses Siri for voice control. So, you can ask Siri to control connect devices, get information and more. You can also listen to Apple Music, iTunes music purchases, Beats 1 live radio And Beats 1 live episodes on demand. Everything is just “Hey Siri” away.

The company claims that HomePod uses Apple’s audio technology and advanced software to deliver good sound even if it has a small form factor. It has 7 tweeters each with its own customized amplifier. There’s an upward facing woofer for creating a wide range of deep bass. It has a six-microphone array and an internal bass-EQ microphone for listening to you properly.

It packs an Apple-designed A8 chip for faster and smart processing. It also supports AirPlay 2 and enables multi-room audio experience by connecting multiple HomePod devices at your home. It features Wi-Fi 802.11ac with MIMO and Bluetooth v5.0 connectivity options.

The HomePod comes in two colors, Space Gray and White. It weighs 2.5Kg and is 172 mm tall. It has a touch surface to control volume, play or pause music, skip tracks and activate Siri.

The setup of HomePod is easy. You just need to plug it in and your iOS or iPad OS device will automatically detect it. HomePod can automatically tune itself to give you optimal sound.

It is worth to note that the speaker was launched in the US, UK, and Australia in February 2018 and came to a few other countries in a few months. But it took 2 years for Apple to realize that India could be a market for this product.
