Apple has introduced its 2nd generation HomePod. It is the successor to the original HomePod that was introduced back in 2017 and was discontinued in 2021. The new HomePod comes with improved audio and better features.
The new HomePod features a custom-engineered 4-inch high-excursion woofer and 20mm diaphragm along with a beamforming array of five tweeters. Each tweeter has its own neodymium magnet. HomePod promises to deliver the incredible audio quality, rich deep bass, and stunning high frequencies.
It packs an S7 chip that was used in Apple Watch Series 7. With software and system-sensing technology, the speaker offers more advanced computational audio for a groundbreaking listening experience.
The smart speaker features a room-sensing technology that recognizes sound reflections from nearby surfaces to determine the speaker’s position and then adapts sound in real time
The speaker also has a built-in bass-EQ mic.
You can also create a stereo pair with two HomePod speakers in the same space or add more HomePod or HomePod mini speakers for an even better experience. The Ultra Wideband technology lets users hand off whatever playing on iPhone directly to a HomePod.
HomePod can recognize up to six voices. So, each member of the home can get their personal playlists, reminders, and calendar events.
The new smart speaker can recognize smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to send notifications directly to iPhone. It also has built-in temperature and humidity sensors to measure indoor environments.
The 2nd generation HomePod is priced at Rs. 32990 and will be available to order starting today. The company will start shipping the new smart speaker starting February 3.
