Xiaomi has launched a new speaker in India called Smart Speaker with IR control. This is the second smart speaker by Xiaomi. As the name suggests, the speaker has an IR Control which is powered by Google Assistant. This allows the user to manage certain devices in the home via voice. The speaker can be coupled with another similar smart speaker for a good stereo sound experience.
The Smart speaker by Xiaomi paks a 1.5-inch full-range speaker and a few far-field microphones that help users to give voice commands. It has a big LED digital clock that displays time on the new Xiaomi Smart Speaker IR Control. So, it can be used as a desk clock. This clock has a DND mode that can automatically change the brightness while you’re sleeping. It can also match the level of light in the room automatically.
The Smart Speaker IR Control by Xiaomi has 2Mics with far-field voice wake-up support. It has a built-in Chromecast that allows users to cast media to other compatible devices. You can also ask the device to control your other smart devices as It has embedded Google Assistant. Other connectivity options includes 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, 2.4GHz/5GHz and Bluetooth 5.0.
The IR remote can be controlled by the IR blaster on the speaker. It will control the other smart devices via Xiaomi Home or Mi Home app on the user’s phone. There are four buttons on the top of the smart speaker for Play/Pause, volume control, microphone mute, and track skipping.
The Xiaomi Smart Speaker IR Control is available only in Black color. It is available on mi.com, Mi Home Store, Flipkart, and other retail outlets for Rs. 4,999.
