Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Bend

When the iPhone 6 Plus was launched, it was criticized for its bendgate issue. Samsung also made so much fun of the iPhone 6 Plus bendgate issue. At the time of Galaxy S6 Edge launch, it didn’t miss the chance to make fun of Apple. It tweeted:

But the Samsung Galaxy 6S Edge also bends. And the surprising thing is that it bends at the same pressure as the iPhone 6 Plus. SquareTrade, a company that specializes in gadget warranties, tested the Galaxy S6 Edge with its bend bot. It found that the S6 Edge began to bend at 110 pounds. This is the same amount of force that led the iPhone 6 Plus to bend.

But this is not the only surprising thing about the test result. It was found that the iPhone 6 Plus cracked under the 179 pounds pressure, but the Galaxy S6 Edge could only survive till 149 pounds.

The company also tested HTC’s new One M9, which bent and cracked at 120 pounds. The phone’s power button didn’t survive after this pressure, and the phone became unusable.

But does it really matter? I do not think. Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus created history for Apple and broke sales records. Apple recorded its most profitable quarter. So, this should not matter in the case of Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone. But Samsung must see this video and think about why they promised that the smartphone would not bend.

I am sure Samsung will reply with a valid reason for the bend. 😉
