Instagram has introduced another new option to give users more control over what they share on Instagram. Now the photo sharing app has started testing a new feature called “Favorites”.

After getting this option, you will be able to add people in your favorites group. While sharing a photo, you will be asked to share with all followers or just favorites. So, you have full control over the availability of your content.

Most of the people still use private Instagram account because they are not comfortable with sharing their photos with anyone. Instagram now wants them to use the public account to get more exposure but keeping their privacy in control.

Your Instagram profile will also get a new favorites tab, denoted by a star. It contains all posts that you’ve shared to your favorites over time.

You can always edit your Favorites to add more people or remove from the list. There is also no limit on the number of people you can add to Favorites. Instagram expects that people will add from 10-30 people in this group.

Favorites is currently being tested with a small group of users and will be available soon to all.

This privacy option is very easy to understand and use. Unlike Facebook, Instagram will clearly ask with whom you want to share. So, you will not mistakenly share photos as a public.

What do you think about Instagram’s new privacy option? Do you think it will encourage people to use public profile? Share your views with us in comments.
