Apple has finally announced the next gen iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. These models come in Silver, space gray, and a “beautiful new gold finish” color options.
This time, both front and back are glass with aluminum frame. The frame is made of Aerospace grade aluminum. Apple claims it to be most durable iPhone ever. Both iPhone models have a new Retina HD display and feature True Tone display like the iPad Pro. The iPhone 8 has 4.7-inch display and iPhone 8 Plus has the 5.5-inch display.
Both now come with improved water resistance and better audio performance. Well, Apple has not brought back the headphone jack.
Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are powered by A11 Bionic chip. It claims to offer 25% faster performance than A10.
Apple iPhone 8 comes with 12 megapixels rear camera. Apple iPhone 8 Plus has 12 MP dual camera with new camera sensors (f/1.8 and f/2.8 aperture) and optical image stabilization.
It claims to offer highest quality video capture ever in a smartphone. Apple also designed a video encoder for this. The new camera system of new iPhone shoots 4K 60 fps and 1080p 240 fps for the first time.
Apple iPhone 8 Plus is ready for Augmented Reality with improved hardware and software. It will get support from latest A11 Bionic and latest GPU.
As expected, Apple has finally introduced wireless charging first time in the iPhone. It uses Qi open wireless charging standard.
Apple iPhone 8 starts at $699 and iPhone 8 Plus starts at $799.
