Prisma to bring its art-filters to Facebook Live videos

Prisma is brining its art-filters to Facebook Live videos

As we reported in our previous article about Facebook’s work on video art-filters, Prisma has come up with a solution for Facebook Live videos.

The company chief executive and cofounder Alexey Moiseenkov said that Prisma Live allows users to apply Prisma’s art filters in video live streaming starting with Facebook Live.

He was live on Facebook while announcing this.

He confirmed that users need only to start a live stream using Prisma Live. The app leverages the Facebook Live API to go Live using filters. He also revealed that 10 styles are available to use but this number could grow to 17 while making this feature live to all users.

This is the best timing for announcing this feature. I am saying this because Facebook is also working on the same thing. Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg also showcased the same kind of video filter few hours before Alexey went live with filters.

I am also confused whether Facebook is working on a separate concept or they have a hidden tie up with Prisma to bring this for Facebook users. Well, Mark prefers acquisition over tie-ups. So, Both works could be independent efforts.

Earlier this month, Prisma announced filters for videos. But those filters needed to upload videos to Prisma servers and it was a time-consuming task. Applying filters to live videos is an interesting job.

Moiseenkov also teased about future support for time lapse videos and GIFs. It seems Prisma magic will be back again.
