Registration for Google Code Jam 2013 is Open, Prize has grown to $15,000

Google has opened the registration for Google Code Jam 2013, programming competition by Google. This will be the 10th code jam in which company invites participants to show their coding skills.

In Google Code Jam, professional and student programmers compete against each other to solve “tough algorithmic puzzles. Last year, more than 35,000 coders participated and the winner was Poland’s Jakub Pachocki. He won the Code Jam Champion title with $10,000 reward.

“The competition consists of four online rounds, culminating in the world finals held at Google’s office in London, United Kingdom this August. The winner of Code Jam 2013 will walk away with a $15,000 prize, the coveted title of Code Jam Champion, and automatic qualification in the Code Jam 2014 finals to defend his or her title,” Google posted about Code Jam.

Qualification round will start on April 12, 2013. After the qualification round, 3000 participants will be selected for next round and then 5000 for third round. For on site final round, only 25 participants will be selected. World Final will be held in London at Google’s Office.

If you want to participate in the code jam, you only need to be older than 13 years. Resident of Quebec, Saudi Arabia, Cuba, Syria, Burma (Myanmar) or any country where Code Jam is prohibited by law are not allowed to participate. If you are a Google employee or intern, or even an affiliate or subsidiary, you can not participate.
