The Indian government is asking Indian citizens to link their PAN with Aadhaar. The deadline is 31 March 2022. If you fail to link the PAN card with Aadhaar, you will be liable to pay a penalty of Rs 500 for the first three months and after that Rs 1,000. So, you should link your PAN and Aadhaar. If you are not sure if your PAN and Aadhaar are linked, you can the linking status online.
To check if your PAN and Aadhaar are linked, open this URL. Here, enter the PAN number, date of birth, and captcha.
After entering the details, click the Submit button and it will tell you if the PAN number is linked with an Aadhaar.
If your PAN and Aadhaar are not linked, you should immediately link to avoid penalty.
