Elon Musk is rebranding Twitter to ‘X’

Elon Musk has announced rebranding for his microblogging platform Twitter. Twitter will soon be called X. The company is also replacing its iconic Bluebird symbol with X. Opening x.com on a browser redirects to twitter.com and the interim logo will go live in a few hours. Musk is also considering changing the default color of the platform from White to Black.

Twitter’s new CEO, Linda Yaccarino, also tweeted to confirm the new branding.

Musk wants to make Twitter the Everything app where users get social media, messaging, videos, and payments. The platform will be ‘centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking.’

Twitter’s new CEO, Linda Yaccarino, tweeted, “It’s an exceptionally rare thing – in life or in business – that you get a second chance to make another big impression. Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.”

Twitter is now facing tough competition from Meta’s recently launched Threads that crossed 100 million signups within 5 days of its launch. After the initial buzz, the excitement around Threads has gone. But several restrictions added by Twitter also made several Twitter users angry.
