vivo has officially launched the V60 smartphone in India. It comes with a large 6.77-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, up to 16GB RAM, triple rear cameras including a 50MP main sensor and 3x periscope telephoto, a huge 6500mAh battery with 90W fast charging, and IP68 + IP69 dust and water resistance.

The phone sports a large 6.77-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The screen also boasts a peak brightness of up to 5000 nits and is protected by Diamond Shield Glass. At 7.53mm thickness (Mist Gray variant), vivo claims it to be the slimmest phone in India with a 6500mAh battery.

The vivo V60 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset built on a 4nm process. The chipset promises efficient performance and comes with an Adreno 722 GPU for solid graphics handling. Vivo has also equipped the phone with a VC Smart Cooling System designed to keep temperatures under control during intensive usage.

The phone offers multiple RAM options: 8GB, 12GB, and up to 16GB. On paper, it looks promising for smooth multitasking and gaming. However, it comes with LPDDR4X RAM instead of LPDDR5. This is disappointing for a phone that costs around Rs. 40000. LPDDR5 offers higher speeds and better power efficiency, which would have complemented the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip’s capabilities better.

On the storage front, vivo has gone with UFS 2.2, which again is a step behind the UFS 3.1 or above storage standards that are becoming commonplace in this price segment. UFS 2.2 storage is slower when it comes to app launch times, file transfers, and general system responsiveness.

The phone runs Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15. Vivo promises four major OS upgrades and six years of security updates. It also packs AI features such as Circle to Search, live call translation, transcript assist, and Erase 2.0, adding practical utility for users.

The phone’s camera setup includes a 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto lens with ZEISS optics. The front camera is 50MP sensor with advanced ZEISS-powered portrait features and 4K video recording capabilities. These cameras should deliver versatile photography options and good quality images for this segment.

The vivo V60 has an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, Stereo speakers, and v. It has 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 be, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, USB Type-C 2.0, and NFC connectivity. The phone packs a massive 6500mAh battery and also supports 90W fast charging.
