Electronic Arts has shared its roadmap for Battlefield 6, and it looks like the company is finally listening to players. The game had a strong launch last year and even managed to beat Call of Duty in sales. Now, six months later, EA has revealed what is coming next in 2026.
The next major update will arrive in May with Season 3. It will bring new maps, including the Railway to Golmud, which is expected to be the biggest map in the game so far. Cairo Bazaar arenas will also be added. Players can also expect new weapons, modes, and updates to the battle royale experience, including solo play and ranked matches.
Season 4 is planned for July 2026. This is where things get more interesting. EA is finally bringing back naval combat, something fans have been asking for. New maps like Tsuru Reef and Wake Island will be part of this update. There will also be features like dynamic waves, custom lobbies, and a spectator mode.

Another season is planned for later this year. It will introduce three new maps, though details are still not available.
Apart from seasonal updates, EA is also working on a proper server browser. This will allow players to join specific servers instead of relying only on matchmaking. The game is also getting persistent servers, which means sessions can stay active longer. Leaderboards are coming as well, giving players a way to track global rankings.
EA is also adding platoons, which will help players form larger groups and play together more easily.
Another notable feature is proximity chat. This will allow players to hear others nearby, including enemies. It can change how players communicate and react during matches.
These features do not have exact release dates yet, but EA says they will arrive sometime in 2026.
