At MWC 2025, Lenovo introduced yet another bold innovation—the ThinkBook “Codename Flip” AI PC Concept laptop. This is a futuristic laptop that features an outward-folding dual-screen design. This design allows users to switch between multiple modes for work, collaboration, and entertainment.

Unlike traditional foldable laptops, the ThinkBook Flip AI PC uses two hinges to create a Z-shaped folding design. The top half of the display folds backward, creating a dual-screen setup for better multitasking.

This design allows the laptop to transform into five different modes:

  • Clamshell Mode (13.1-inch) – A traditional laptop setup for everyday work.
  • Vertical Mode (18.1-inch) – Ideal for reading or reviewing documents.
  • Share Mode (13.1-inch + 12.9-inch outward-facing display) – Lets two people view content simultaneously.
  • Tablet Mode (12.9-inch) – Works like a large touchscreen tablet.
  • Read Mode (12.9-inch) – Optimized for distraction-free reading.

Lenovo claims that the design could improve workflow efficiency for professionals. Casual users can use it as a good entertainment device.

Lenovo has also introduced smart UI elements to take the benefit of dual-screen flexibility. It has a touch-based toggle to switch between different modes, a screen-sharing prompt to ensure you always know when your screen is being mirrored, and an 18.1-inch vertical mode.

ThinkBook Flip AI PC packs an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, PCIe SSD storage, and Thunderbolt 4 ports for fast data transfer. Lenovo has also included the Smart ForcePad, an illuminated touchpad that integrates numeric keys, media controls, and shortcuts for faster navigation.

The only concern is the battery life. Since it has a large, power-hungry display, it might drain the battery quickly. Lenovo hasn’t shared details about the battery capacity, so we can only guess.
