Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has today confirmed that it won’t be holding its F8 developer conference in 2022. F8 is an annual developer conference to connect with developers. The event began in 2007 as an 8-hour developer hackathon and evolved over the years.
“Similar to years past, we are taking a brief break in programming and will not hold F8 in 2022 while we gear up on new initiatives that are all tailored towards the next chapter of the internet, and the next chapter of our company too: building the metaverse,’ said Diego Duarte Moreira in a blog post.
The company isn’t ignoring developers and will connect them at the recently-announced inaugural virtual Conversations event on May 19. This event will be dedicated to businesses, developers, and partners interested in building experiences on messaging platforms. At this event, the company plans to provide new product updates.
