Twitter is testing a new article feature on the platform to let users write long-form of content within the app. That could be a different type of content instead of tweets that limits to 280 characters.
Jane Manchun Wong spotted this upcoming feature and tweeted the screenshot.
This feature is still available to a very small number of users for testing. So, we cannot say when it will be unveiled. Twitter does multiple levels of testing and releases a feature only if it gets a positive response from early users.
Back in 2020, the company introduced Threads that let users write a long-form of content in multiple tweets. However, the limit of a Tweet remained to be 280 characters.
The new feature could be a blogging section similar to Medium where users can write articles. The company could also offer a monetization option to encourage users to write articles on the platform. This feature could also be exclusive to Twitter Blue subscribers to encourage subscription.
