Microsoft Increases SkyDrive Pro for Storage to 25GB, Brings Better File Sharing

Today, Microsoft has announced that it has increased the storage of SkyDrive Pro for business to 25 GB (up from 7 GB). Non Pro SkyDrive users receives no additional benefit. Few more features are also added.

SkyDrive Pro is the part of Office 365 suite which is used by business, organizations and universities. Now, In SkyDrive Pro for business, each employee with get 25 GB storage (sharp increase from 7GB). And this capacity can be increased to 50GB or even 100GB.

“Let’s look at what that means for the overall storage for each user. With Office 365, you get 25 GB of SkyDrive Pro storage + 25 GB of  email storage + 5 GB for each site mailbox you create + your total available tenant storage, which for every Office 365 business customer starts at 10 GB + (500 MB x # of user(s)1),” Microsoft explains.

Microsoft has also added a section “Shared With Me” to help you in finding documents and folders shared by your friends with you.

Microsoft has also announced that file upload limit has been increased to 2 GB per file. It will also store up to last 10 versions of the documents and increased “default recycle bin retention” to a full 90 days. These features will surely help if he accidentally deletes a file.

Mircrosoft has increased the storage capacity just after Box introduced a new plan for business and increased free storage. Microsoft do not want to let Pro customers go anywhere.
