White House Employees’ Emails and Reuter’s Twitter Account Hacked By Syrian Electronic Army

It seems that Syrian Electronic Army is not going to give up too early. After hacking into few big names, now this hacking group has hacked personal emails of white house employees along with Reuter’s Twitter (@ThomsonReuters) account.

We already know that this hacking group widely uses phishing attack to hack into personal emails. Then by using those personal email accounts, it hack other social media account attack to it. According to nextgov reports, they hacked into three Gmail accounts of white house staffers. After hacking into those accounts, hackers send bogus emails to other employees.

For hacking these accounts, hackers used phishing attack. They sent phishing links with legitimate looking BBC and CNN articles and then ask to authenticate via Gmail and Twitter to access the news.

In similar news, they hacked into the Twitter account of popular news paper Thomson Reuters and posted 7 photos (political cartoons). After 35 minutes, the account was suspended.

Although, we were late to grab all the photos, but you can access those photos on BuzFeed.

After few hours, hackers also tweeted the passwords of @whitehouse Twitter and HootSuit accounts. Now the SEA’s Twitter account has been suspended.

This hacking group seems to be very active these days, they hacked into TrueCaller website, Viber’s website and Viber’s App Sore listing.
