Truecaller Database Hacked by Syrian Electronic Army

Hackers group, Syrian Electronic Army has hacked global phone database Truecaller and hacked its complete database. They announced it via twitter.

They managed to hack Truecaller’s system by exploiting a WordPress vulnerability found. They claimed to have stolen 7 databases along with main database of Truecaller. Main database is in 450 GB in size.

They have also leaked the login credentials of the database. Hackers also claimed to have millions of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google accounts. They have also leaked login credentials online.

Trucaller hacked

They have also posted a snapshot showing older version of WordPress used in TrueCaller website.

TrueCaller has also shutdown the website and added an error message, “We are doing some upgrades. Thank you for your patience.” At the time of writing the post, website was showing the error message.
