Dropbox Enables Two Step Verification for SecurityFew weeks back, Dropbox faced data breach which was really bad moment for the company. Dropbox account of one of it employee was hacked by using the password which he used for different websites. Although that was not a big security breach but it could be.To prevent these kind of things, Dropbox has added a new security feature called two step verification.

In two step verification security mechanism, Dropbox users will get a onetime password on their mobile phones or in email after successful login into their account. To get the access of their account, users will have to enter that one time password received via email or phone.

Two step verification security method is not new and it has already been used by most of the big websites including Facebook, Google and many other.

“We’ll be adding optional two-step verification for all Dropbox accounts sometime in the next few days. Two-step verification adds an extra layer of protection to your account by requiring an additional security code that is sent to your phone by text message or generated using a mobile authenticator app,” Dropbox announced in a forum post.

To activate two step authentication for Dropbox account, visit Two Step Verification link. You need to signin into your Dropbox account to activate this security feature.

This feature will be rolled out to all users in next few days. If you do not want to wait, you can download the experimental builds. After downloading, go to yout account and then in settiings page. From that page, enable the two step verification feature and enjoy the enhanced security.
