WhatsApp Hits 30 Million Active Users in India, Partners With Tata Docomo for unlimited usage plan

WhatsApp, popular messaging app now has more than 30 million active users in India. Neeraj Arora, Head of Business Development for WhatsApp confirmed the recent numbers to Medianama. Company is also trying to get more users by partnering with telecom companies.

WhatsApp has also partnered with Tata Docomo to offer unlimited WhatsApp. Now, Tata Docomo has launched a WhatsApp usage pack for Rs. 15. This pack is valid for 15 days and offers unlimited WhatsApp use. Although, company has not officially announced this offer and we couldn’t find it on official website. But a recent television ad (embedded) revealed the new plan.

WhatsApp has continued its impressive growth in India while competing with other messaging apps including Wechat and Line. WhatsApp announced 350 million active users back in October.

WhatsApp also signed a similar kind of deal with RCOM where it is offering unlimited WhatsApp usage for one month for Rs. 16.
