OLA Electric introduces MoveOS 5; Here are key features

MoveOS 5

At its Sankalp 2024 event, OLA Electric unveiled its new range of motorcycles and new iterations of the operating system MoveOS 5 for electric scooters and bikes. MoveOS 5 includes several features for safety, convenience, and performance. OLA Electric claims that the new software will redefine the electric scooter experience. In this detailed article, I am listing some of the notable features of MoveOS 5 that you should know.

MoveOS 5 Features

ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems):

People who are interested in bikes and cars already know what ADAS is. ADAS uses several sensors to automate several things for safety and convenience. ADAS in MoveOS 5 offers collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. It uses sensors to alert rat riders about potential collisions. If a collision is imminent, it will automatically apply brakes to keep the rider safe. The adaptive cruise control maintains a safe distance from the vehicle ahead and adjusts speeds accordingly to keep the rider safe.

TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System): This feature will provide real-time monitoring of tire pressure to optimize performance and prevent punctures.

Group Navigation

Group Navigation is actually an interesting feature. If you are going on a group ride with your friends with OLA bikes or scooters, you can ride together using group navigation. It will share location and navigation as a group. You will be able to see the locations of all your friends on maps. So, no one will be left behind.

MoveOS 5

Road Trip Mode

The system calculates the most efficient route based on several factors such as battery range, charging infrastructure, and traffic conditions. It aims to suggest the path with minus charging stops. Users can easily identify stations with available charging points and estimate charging times. The system will also estimate the total charging cost for the entire journey. Riders will also see real-time traffic information to avoid congestion and adjust their route accordingly.

Smart Park

Smart Park feature will assist in finding available parking spaces. The system can also detect obstacles to prevent collisions during parking. It will also guide the rider to part the he scooter into tight spots.

Smart Charging

OLA is also adding a Smart Charging feature with MoveOS 5. This feature optimizes charging based on electricity rates and grid load. It aims to maximize battery life and reduce charging costs.

Krutrim AI

OLA Electric has also integrated Krutrim AI into MoveOS 5 to offer hands-free control of various scooter functions using voice commands.

Performance Enhancements

MoveOS 5 also offers improved acceleration, range, and overall power output. OLA says that it has optimised algorithms to improve acceleration and responsiveness. The improved battery management systems can also increase range and improve charging time.

MoveOS 5 Availability

MoveOS 5 is scheduled to be available in beta by Diwali 2024. It is important to note that the beta version will have bugs. So, it is not advisable to use beta until you are a developer. The company didn’t confirm when it plans to roll out the stable version.
