The life simulation game Paralives has made a massive debut in early access. The game launched on May 25 and quickly attracted huge attention from players across the world. The developers confirmed that Paralives sold over 250,000 copies worldwide within just eight hours of launch. That is an impressive start for an indie life sim title, especially in a genre largely dominated by The Sims 4.

The game is also receiving a strong response from players on Steam. Paralives currently holds a “Very Positive” rating, with 88% of nearly 4,900 user reviews being positive.

The game has also posted impressive player numbers on Steam shortly after launch. According to Techlomedia’s Steam data, the game recorded an all-time peak of 78,604 on May 25, the same day the game launched in early access. At the time of writing the article, it had 17,731 current active players with 49,123 of 24-hour peak players.

For an indie simulation game, crossing nearly 79,000 concurrent players at launch is a major achievement.

The game is also attracting attention on Twitch, where creators have been streaming gameplay, house building, and character customization. At the time of writing the article, it had 2,197 active viewers across 78 streams. It also recorded 47,022 all-time peak viewership, which suggests the game generated strong curiosity during launch.

Paralives has been in development for several years and gained popularity online thanks to its detailed building tools, customizable characters, and cozy life sim gameplay. Many players have also been comparing it to the The Sims series due to its similar gameplay style.

The strong launch sales, high Steam player counts, and solid Twitch viewership suggest that Paralives may become one of the biggest indie simulation game launches of the year.
