Microsoft has confirmed that it will bring the Xbox app to select Hisense smart TVs running V homeOS, which was earlier known as VIDAA. The rollout is planned for later this year and is part of Microsoft’s plan to expand the Xbox ecosystem beyond dedicated gaming hardware.
With the Xbox app, users will be able to play games directly on their TV using Xbox Cloud Gaming. This feature will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers on the Ultimate, Premium, and Essential plans. Players will be able to stream hundreds of games without needing an Xbox console or any extra hardware.
Popular titles like Call of Duty Black Ops 7, Hollow Knight Silksong, and Clair Obscur Expedition 33 will be playable through the app. Microsoft says the streaming quality will remain high, as the games run on Xbox servers and are delivered over the internet.
To start playing, users only need a supported controller that can connect to the TV. Along with Game Pass titles, players can also access select games they already own. Xbox features such as achievements, friends list, and community tools will continue to work through the TV interface.
This move is part of Microsoft’s “Everywhere is Xbox” strategy, which focuses on removing hardware limits and making gaming more accessible. The partnership with V homeOS also shows Microsoft’s interest in smart TV platforms that are gaining popularity across global markets.
Microsoft has not yet shared the list of supported Hisense TV models or regional availability. The company says more details, including technical requirements and launch timelines, will be announced in the coming months through Xbox Wire.
