Valve has officially revealed the winners of the Steam Awards 2025, and Hollow Knight Silksong has emerged as the biggest highlight of the year. The game won the Game of the Year award after being voted on by millions of Steam users.
The Steam Awards voting process began in November, when users nominated games across 11 different categories. Final voting took place during the Steam Winter Sale from December 18 to January 3. Valve announced the winners on January 3, closing another year of community-driven awards.
Hollow Knight Silksong did not just win the top prize. It also secured the Best Game You Suck At award, a category known for recognizing tough and skill-heavy games. The double win reflects how players see Silksong as both challenging and highly rewarding. Its success also shows how long-awaited sequels can still deliver when expectations are high.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 also stood out during the awards. While it missed the Game of the Year title, the game won Best Soundtrack. Its music has been widely praised by players and critics alike. The award adds to the strong momentum the game built throughout 2025. Earlier, the developers released a free update that added new endgame challenges, which further strengthened player interest.
