Apple has officially unveiled iOS 26 at WWDC 2025, and the beta version is now available for developers. The public beta will roll out next month.

iOS 26 brings a fresh new look and several smart features. Apple is calling it the biggest design update since iOS 7. The new interface uses a material called Liquid Glass, which gives a smooth and translucent feel to widgets, app icons, and Control Center. There is also a new “all-clear” mode, added alongside the usual light and dark modes. I have already written all the new features of iOS 26 in a seperate article.

The iOS 26 developer beta is available starting today via the Apple Developer Program. The public beta will be released next month through the Apple Beta Software Program.

Should You Install the Developer Beta?

The developer beta is meant for developers and tech enthusiasts who want to test their apps or explore the new features early. This version is often unstable and can have bugs, app crashes, and performance issues. If you install it on your main device, you might face problems with battery life, overheating, or even data loss.

So, if you rely on your iPhone every day or do not have experience with beta software, it is best to wait.

Public Beta is a Safer Choice

The public beta is coming next month. It will be more stable than the developer version. While it may still have some issues, Apple usually fixes major bugs before releasing the public version. It is better suited for regular users who are curious and want to try iOS 26 before the final version arrives later this year.

Final Release

Now the primary question is: When is iOS 26 coming out? The stable version of iOS 26 will likely roll out to everyone in September, along with the new iPhone launch.
