Google’s Bard AI is now available to everyone in 180 countries

Google unveiled Bard AI back in February this year but it was only available to select users. People who wanted to use Bard AI needed to register their interest and join a waitlist. At Google I/O 2023, Google dropped the waitlist requirement and expanded Bard AI to everyone in 180 additional countries and territories.

Google Bard is an AI chatbot similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Bard generates human-like text responses to various prompts. This AI chatbot has been designed to mimic the style and structure of human writing.

Bard now uses the new PaLM 2 platform, So, users can expect new features and better responses. PaLM 2 is the successor to PaLM and PaLM-E multimodal models. So, Bard now comes with support for in-depth programming in 20+ programming languages including HTML/CSS, Java, Javascript, and many more. It will also let users export code to Google Colab and Replit.

Google Bard now responds more visually in conversations and can respond back with a combination of text and images. Google is also adding Adobe Firefly into Bard. It brings text-to-image generation ability to Bard.

Not just Adobe, Google has also partnered with several other companies including Spotify, Walmart, Indeed, and more. So, Bard will soon get more features and expanded capabilities. It can be seen as similar to ChatGPT plugins. Google Bard will soon get extensions from other providers such as Kayak, OpenTable, ZipRecruiter, Instacart, Wolfram, and Khan Academy.

Starting today, Google Bard is available to anyone in English in the 180 supported countries. It requires you to have a Google account.
