Adobe has unveiled its new “family of creative generative AI models” called Adobe Firefly. Firefly models can generate texts and images. The company claims that Firefly will offer precision, speed, power, and ease in content creation. Adobe also promises that Firefly results are “safe for commercial use.”

The company has launched the beta of the first Firefly model for commercial use. It is being integrated into Creative Cloud, Experience Cloud, Document Cloud, and Adobe Express workflows.

“Generative AI is the next evolution of AI-driven creativity and productivity, transforming the conversation between creator and computer into something more natural, intuitive, and powerful,” said David Wadhwani, president of Digital Media Business, Adobe.

Adobe has trained the Firefly model with the company’s stock media and public domain content. So, Firefly won’t piss off artists. Adobe also plans to pay artists who contribute training data, but it will only be done after the system comes out of beta.

“We can generate high-quality content and not random brands’ and others’ IP because our model has never seen that brand content or trademark,” Alexandru Costin, VP of generative AI and Sensei at Adobe.

Adobe customers can use the FireFly model to generate extraordinary new content including photos, artwork, illustrations, brushes, and more. This new update will surely give Canva a nightmare. With FireFly, Adobe suits look much better and more powerful.

Firefly is part of the Adobe Cloud library. So, you need a subscription to use it.
