When you try to post a long video to Instagram stories, the app automatically cut the video into multiple 15-second clips and posts them as different Stories. Now the company has reportedly increased the Story video’s length and the Story video can be up to 60 seconds in length. Instagram started testing the change last year and now rolling it out to all users globally.

This change is good for both creators and viewers. It will offer uninterrupted Stories and viewers won’t have to keep tapping to continue watching the long video posted on Stories.

Now if you have a video of up to 60 seconds in length, you can either post it as Story or Reels. It all depends on you.

The company wants people to post more videos on the platform. Recently, Instagram also increased the Reels video length that can be of up to 90 seconds. The company is also changing video posts to Stories automatically. It shows Instagram’s commitment to Reels. The company is trying hard to attract TikTok creators by offering more video features and options.
