Apple HomePod Mini gets Music Streaming Support From Gaana

HomePod Mini

Apple’s smaller smart speaker HomePod mini is getting music streaming support from Gaana.com. HomePod mini supports direct streaming from Apple Music as a default service. Now you can also add Gaana as a new streaming service and use Siri voice command to stream music from Gaana.

Gaana app features a library of over 45 million tracks across 25 languages. It mainly covers music from Indian artists. The app offers both free and paid tiers.

You need to activate the Gaana app first before you can use it on HomePod Mini. To set up Gaana, go to Settings > Connect with HomePod and follow on-screen instructions to set up the Gaana app on HomePod Mini.

Once the setup is complete, use Siri’s voice command such as “Hey Siri, Play SONG_NAME ono Gaana” and your song will be played on the Gaana app.

You could already stream music from third-party music apps such as Spotify and Amazon Music but you need to use a smartphone as a controller and AirPlay for the connection. Gaana will work as a default music app and can be controlled using Siri voice commands.
