Following the announcements at Google I/O 2021, Google has finally released the first Android 12 Beta. Everything that we saw in Developer Preview has been polished and refined for the first beta release.
The first Android 12 Beta is now available for Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, or Pixel 5 device. If you have any of these devices, you can enroll yourself with Google to get Android 12 Beta updates over the air. You can also manually download and install the Android 12 beta if you know how to do it.
If you have enrolled for an OTA update, you can check the OTA update by going to Settings > System > System Update > Check for update. It may take a few days to reach all the devices for the beta release.
Android 12 is coming with a big user interface overhaul and several new features. Android 12 now includes fluid motion and animations. Widgets have been redesigned and controls are more interactive. Google claims that it has optimized the UP with better power efficiency.
Google has also added new privacy settings on Android 12. Now there is a Privacy Dashboard that gives you detail about permission settings and data access by different apps. I will talk about Android 12 in detail in a separate article.
