At today’s Apple event, Apple announced a small and beautiful smart speaker HomePod Mini.

It brings features of a full-size HomePod in a smaller speaker. HomePod mini features a mesh fabric exterior and will be available in two colors: Black and Grey. It is of spherical shape with a small display on top to show the Siri waveform and volume controls.

HomePod Mini packs Apple’s powerful S5 chip. It uses computational models to adjust your music 180 times per second to offer you the best possible experience. You can use two HomePod Mini to create a stereo experience. It also uses U1 chips that it debuted in last year’s iPhones.

Apple’s HomePod Mini can play music from Apple Music. It also supports third-party music services including Pandora, Amazon Music, and iHeartRadio. Surprisingly, there’s no Spotify but I hope you can guess the reason.

HomePod can access apps on your phone, so you can ask it to send a message, access weather information, and much more.

HomePod Mini helps you get things done at your home by acting as a hub for HomeKit devices. It makes your smart home control simple. You can ask it to lock the door, dim the light, and control smart products installed at your home.

Siri can recognize the voices of each member in your house and reply according to that.

It also offers “Intercom” feature that lets you install multiple HomePod devices in different rooms to communicate throughout the house. Intercom messages also appear on other connected Apple dev ices like iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches.

HomePod Mini costs just $99. Preorders start on November 6th and shipping will start on November 16th.

Apple has also confirmed the India pricing of HomePod Mini. It will be available at Rs. 9999.
