Microsoft Office 365 Apps on Mac App Store

Microsoft has finally released office apps includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and OneDrive on Mac App Store. Customers can purchase Office 365 subscription from within the apps directly that is required to use the apps.

Microsoft has updated apps to work fine with latest Mac OS. These apps include Dark Mode for Mojave. Microsoft has also added support for Continuity Camera that lets you scan a document with your iPhone and use it instantly on your Mac. Microsoft has also smart used Touch Bar on compatible Macs.

Microsoft Office has always been available for MacOS but only through Microsoft’s website. Users were using it by downloading from Microsoft’ website but not having the apps on App Store was an overhead. When the device recommends not to download software from other website, few users may have a fear of downloading apps from other websites.

“We are excited to welcome Microsoft Office 365 to the all new Mac App Store in macOS Mojave,” said Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “Apple and Microsoft have worked together to bring great Office productivity to Mac users from the very beginning. Now, with Office 365 on the Mac App Store, it’s easier than ever to get the latest and best version of Office 365 for Mac, iPad, and iPhone.”

It is good that Microsoft has finally make a way to App store and added in-app subscription option. This will force Microsoft to give a cut to Apple, but that will also help Microsoft in boosting Mac user base.
