After getting lots of video publishers and thousands of minutes video watch daily on social media platform, Facebook is now working to bring the Facebook TV as a separate section. Bloomberg has reported that Facebook’s version of TV is coming in mid-august.

Facebook is in talks with several partners for bringing their programs. Facebook is also funding higher-end TV-style shows to bring on Facebook TV. Facebook wants new original short video shows to offer users. There will be 20- to 30-minute shows owned solely by Facebook. Later this year, it will start offering TV-style shows.

These TV shows were expected to come in June but delayed to August and there could be further delays.

Videos will be hosted outside of Facebook’s News Feed. So, there could be a different video section where users can search for videos, subscribe pages to get alerts of new videos, give reactions and leave comments.

Facebook TV will bring scripted and user-generated content both and it aims to compete with YouTube for now. It has no plans to compete with video producers such as Netflix or HBO, but that could be the next plan in cards.

Facebook has declined to comment on this matter. It does not want to reveal anything before it has a final date to confirm.
